About Us

Jeanne Turner
With nearly ten years’ experience in Interior Decorating, Jeanne has developed a loyal client base who value her eye for color, her sense of style and proportion, and her practical approach to interior design.

She believes that a room must be as functional as it is beautiful and that it is important to start with a Design Plan to avoid costly mistakes. Jeanne spends more time on her Design Plans than most because her style is collaborative. She feels it is important to understand your individual needs and wishes and then to consider the options with you before making a final recommendation. She invites clients to contact her with free follow-up questions and enjoys guiding each through the process. As a result, many clients refer to Jeanne as their “design mentor”.

Jeanne’s talent for interior decorating evolved over the years as she moved from NYC to Dusseldorf, then London, back to New York and on to Los Angeles, Houston, Northern Virginia, and finally Maplewood, NJ. She learned the art of repurposing, refining and editing her family’s furniture, art and accessories as she created a new home for the family in each very different house – and always on a budget!

Her eye for color and form was developed in London, where she spent seven years buying original paintings from artists in England and on the continent. Subsequent study with Laurie Ward, of “Use What You Have Decorating” fame, and at the Sheffield School of Design in NYC gave her a design foundation as well as a business model which is not based on sales commission. Jeanne’s services are fee-based, freeing her to help her clients find the best buy for their budget, whatever it might be.

Jeanne is a proud member of The Interior Refiners Network and has served as that organization’s first President. She strongly supports the arts in education and served for many years in both Texas and Virginia as her local public school chairperson for “Reflections” (a national PTA arts competition). Jeanne currently volunteers as a facilitator helping children cope with loss at Good Grief in Summit, NJ (www.good-grief.org).
